Join One805—a dynamic Santa Barbara-based nonprofit supporting local first responders—as we ramp up for our flagship event, One805LIVE!, a high-energy benefit concert happening on September 20, 2025. This is your opportunity to play a key role behind the scenes, helping shape our public voice and grow our digital presence. As our Social Media Manager / Marketing Assistant, you’ll work alongside a passionate team to create compelling content, promote a meaningful cause, and build momentum leading up to one of Santa Barbara’s most exciting events.
Qualifications
This role is perfect for a local Santa Barbara resident who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You’re a proactive, detail-oriented multitasker with a “can-do” attitude and a passion for community impact.
- Strong writing skills and a good eye for design
- Experience with Canva and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok a plus)
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for community-driven causes and storytelling
- Bonus: familiarity with Santa Barbara area or event production
- Available for hybrid work (remote and on-site) with occasional evening or weekend needs as the event approaches
Responsibilities
- Create and schedule engaging social media content (primarily Instagram and Facebook) using Canva
- Support marketing and event promotion efforts leading up to One805LIVE!
- Assist with email newsletter drafts and website content updates
- Track basic analytics and help brainstorm ways to grow engagement
- Attend virtual team meetings and collaborate with leadership on campaign needs
- Occasionally assist with on-site content capture or event-related tasks (some weekends may be required)

Additional Information
- Must reside near Santa Barbara, CA, with reliable transportation for on-site needs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must have a strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other major social media platforms—with a particular focus on creating and managing Facebook and Instagram ads.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for hybrid work (20 hours/week) with flexibility for occasional evening/weekend tasks, especially closer to the event date.
- Passion for nonprofit work and community engagement.
