Job Description
East Africa Gate (EAG) is seeking a talented, self-motivated, and highly organized Freelance Social Media Manager to join our growing team. This role involves managing the social media presence for a diverse portfolio of clients while offering significant flexibility to work remotely and on your own schedule. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing clients’ social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, drive traffic, and generate leads across various platforms. Key tasks include creating engaging content, fostering community engagement, monitoring performance metrics, and adapting strategies to meet specific client objectives. This position requires a blend of creativity, analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate autonomously. While work will be largely independent, collaboration with internal teams for brand consistency and campaign alignment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive social media strategies for various client accounts.
- Create, curate, and manage engaging written, image, and video content for major social media platforms.
- Schedule and publish posts, ensuring optimal timing and engagement.
- Monitor social media channels for industry trends, brand mentions, and customer inquiries.
- Analyze performance data and provide actionable recommendations for strategy optimization.
- Manage and optimize social media advertising campaigns.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and content writers for on-brand content.
- Stay updated on the latest social media best practices and platform changes.
- Engage with online communities and key influencers.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and data privacy regulations.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Social Media Manager or similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of major social media platforms and best practices.
- Understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, and content marketing principles.
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
- Exceptional ability to create compelling content in various formats.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Highly analytical with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field.
- Experience with social media advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager).
- Proficiency in basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
- Track record of growing social media engagement and driving conversions.
