Job Description

The role is for a freelance designer who can own the design process end-to-end, which includes strategy, UX, UI, responsive design, light branding, and development-ready handoff. The engagement will begin with a paid test or small project, and if successful, it can lead to ongoing collaborations. The position allows for remote work and has an immediate start date.

Responsibilities

• Translate business goals and briefs into information architecture, user flows, and wireframes.
• Create high-fidelity UI in Figma with components, variants, responsive logic, and development annotations.
• Establish visual direction through moodboards, style tiles, typography systems, color tokens, icons, and simple illustrations.
• Deliver brand-level outputs, including light identity, logo refinements, usage guidelines, and social assets.
• Design with a focus on conversion, accessibility, and performance (knowledge of WCAG 2.2 required).
• Prepare development-ready specifications/exports and collaborate through the build and quality assurance phases.
• Iterate quickly based on feedback while maintaining tidy and documented files.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating custom website designs across various industries (non-template), showcasing concept thinking, process, and results.
• Expertise in Figma, including auto-layout, components, variants, styles, grids, constraints, prototypes, and structured pages.
• Strong understanding of UX fundamentals, such as information architecture, content hierarchy, conversion patterns, mobile-first design, and usability.
• Branding capability, including visual direction, typography, color systems, and iconography, with the ability to create or refine basic identities.
• Experience in responsive and interaction design, including states, micro-interactions, transitions, and hover/tap feedback.
• Basic knowledge of accessibility principles, including contrast, focus states, keyboard navigation, and semantic thinking.
• Strong handoff discipline, including file naming, specifications, export processes, and notes; comfort in collaborating during quality assurance.
• Fluency in English for daily communication with clients and team members.
• Reliability, proactivity, and a deadline-driven work ethic.

• Skills in icon design, simple 2D illustration, or photo direction.
