East Africa Gate (EAG) is a dynamic and innovative marketing, advertising, and communications agency based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We seek a talented, self-motivated, and highly organized Freelance Social Media Manager to manage the social media presence for our diverse portfolio of clients. This role offers significant flexibility, allowing for remote work and a self-determined schedule. You will develop, implement, and manage social media strategies, creating engaging content, fostering community engagement, and adapting strategies to meet client objectives. Your efforts will enhance brand visibility, drive traffic, and generate leads for businesses within Ethiopia and the East African market.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Social Media Manager, Digital Marketing Specialist, or a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and their best practices.
- Solid understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, content marketing principles, and basic SEO principles.
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Later).
- Exceptional ability to deliver creative, compelling, and effective content across various formats (text, image, video).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Amharic.
- Highly analytical and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and superior time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Experience with social media advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
- Proficiency in basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
- Proven track record of growing social media engagement and driving conversions for clients.
- Experience working in an agency environment or managing multiple brands simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of digital marketing trends and consumer behavior in the East African market.
