Job Description
The Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW), part of the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University, is seeking a Temporary Social Media Marketing Specialist. This role involves applying marketing expertise to enhance CEW’s communications through social media and marketing campaigns. The specialist will be deeply involved in content creation for various social media platforms, including X, Bluesky, Instagram, and LinkedIn, and will be responsible for crafting, posting, monitoring, and analyzing content that promotes CEW’s research. Additional responsibilities include performing social media engagement activities, distilling complex research into digestible content, tracking marketing campaign performance, writing promotional material, and managing email correspondence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of progressive experience with social media platforms and analytics.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to summarize data and prioritize work.
- Excellent work ethic, time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a creative perspective and critical thinking ability.
- Knowledge of social media monitoring tools and Mailchimp is highly preferred.
Work Interactions
The Social Media Marketing Specialist will report to the Director of Communications and Operations and collaborate on activities such as maintaining the social media editorial calendar, content writing/editing, designing promotional materials, and more. The team consists of a Director of Communications and Operations, a Communications and Media Relations Specialist, and a Graphic Design & Multimedia Specialist.
Work Mode Designation
This position is designated as Remote, with the understanding that work mode designations are regularly reviewed to meet the University’s evolving needs.
Pay Range
The projected hourly pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00, determined by the candidate’s qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, as well as the University’s business needs.
