· Strong portfolio showcasing thoughtful interaction design and visually refined user interfaces. Please provide previous work examples or portfolio links at the time of submission.
· Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar.
· Strong understanding of UX best practices, behavioral psychology, and motivational design.
· Data-driven mindset—comfortable interpreting metrics, running A/B tests, using analytics platforms, and turning insights into actionable design improvements.
· Experience working cross-functionally in fast-moving, iterative environments.
What You’ll Do
· Design intuitive, playful, and engaging mobile web-based UI systems that bring gamification concepts to life (progression, achievements, missions, rewards, feedback loops, etc.).
· Build wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that communicate complex systems through clarity and fun.
· Translate game-inspired mechanics into simple, frictionless user flows anyone can understand.
· Develop and maintain Make it Free’s visual identity and UI style guide, ensuring consistent, user-first design.
· Collaborate with product, engineering, and strategy teams to ensure interactions feel responsive, smooth, and rewarding.
· Participate in user testing to validate concepts, refine engagement loops, and continuously improve the experience.
· Use data and behavioral insights to evaluate design performance, inform decisions, validate hypotheses, and optimize user engagement.
· Innovate on new ways to make everyday consumer actions feel delightful, rewarding, and intrinsically motivating.
· Incorporate accessibility principles to ensure the experience is enjoyable and usable for all.
Bonus Points For
· Background in game UI, mobile game design, or casual game mechanics.
· Experience designing motion, transitions, or micro-interactions that enhance user delight.
· Familiarity with engagement loops, retention mechanics, or consumer gamification strategies.
· Ability to collaborate on the conceptualization of a new, unconventional experience category.
