Job Description

The Florida Renaissance Festival is seeking a creative, energetic, and quick-thinking Social Media Manager and Content Creator to join our team. This seasonal role is especially active during festival weekends, where you will gather content, post live updates, and engage with the community across platforms. The position facilitates sharing the sights, sounds, and spirit of the Renaissance, aligning with our family-friendly brand.

Position Overview

This is a seasonal/temporary position for 12 weeks from January 12th to April 6th, 2026 (including onboarding in December and January). The role involves 25 hours per week, with 16 hours of in-person work each weekend and 9 hours of remote work.

Weekly Pay: $550 ($22/hour)

Weekend Duties (Primary Focus)

  • Capture live, on-site content including photos, videos, stories, reels, character interactions, and festival highlights.
  • Post real-time updates across primary accounts: Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, along with secondary account X.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and mentions.
  • Coordinate with Admin/PR team, performers, vendors, and staff for featured content.
  • Identify trending moments and opportunities for viral content.
  • Submit all posts for review and approval before posting.

Weekday Duties (Light)

  • Plan and schedule content calendars for upcoming weeks/weekends.
  • Edit and post photos/video clips into polished social media posts.
  • Review analytics and performance from the previous weekend and provide performance reports at the end of the contract period.
  • Assist with promotional campaigns and brand collaboration.
  • Submit all posts for review and approval before posting.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing multiple social media platforms for well-known brands or large-scale events.
  • Strong photography and mobile video capturing and editing skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and quickly in dynamic environments.
  • Up to date on social media trends and pop-culture.
  • Familiarity with Renaissance, fantasy, cosplay, and festival/event culture is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet for long periods during festival weekends.

Schedule, Start Date & Onboarding Requirements

This is a part-time role averaging 25 hours per week. The Social Media Manager will begin officially in mid-January, with on-site weekend work starting once the festival season begins. Onboarding will involve meetings in December and January that cover:

  • Expectations, communication protocols, and content guidelines.
  • In-person meetings at the office for operational foundations and safety considerations.
  • Orientation on festival branding, tone, and content strategy.
  • Review of all required contracts, including NDAs and confidentiality agreements.
  • Travel and housing/compensation are not included. Equipment and software are not provided.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation to Deerfield Beach.

Content Rights, Confidentiality & Required Agreements

All hired individuals will need to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and confidentiality contracts. By accepting this position, content created for the festival becomes the exclusive property of the Florida Renaissance Festival, with full rights retained for distribution and use.
