Job Description
IBA is seeking proposals from qualified graphic designers or design firms to provide project-based design services. We are specifically looking for a design partner to support visual and creative needs on an as-needed, project-by-project basis.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience producing high-quality design work for nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, with a strong portfolio showcasing print and digital design particularly for multicultural audiences, especially Latinx communities.
- Skills: Knowledge of layout, typography, visual storytelling, and accessibility best practices. Ability to work collaboratively with internal communications staff and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Portfolio: Submission of a portfolio or 3–5 work samples relevant to IBA’s mission is required.
- Communication: Clear project management and communication approach.
- Tools: Familiarity with design tools/software; ability to use Canva Pro or other standard design tools preferred.
- Branding: All design work must align with IBA’s existing brand guidelines (visual identity, typography, color palettes, tone) without requiring logo redesign or brand refresh.
Project Summary
IBA seeks a designer or design firm to serve as a creative partner on priority design initiatives such as:
- 2025 Annual Report: Design a 20–25-page digital report highlighting IBA’s work and impact, with a publication date of no later than March 18, 2026.
- La CASA Grand Opening: Create visual assets for the grand opening of La CASA, including invitations and social media graphics.
- Festival Betances: Design graphic elements for IBA’s largest annual event.
- Holiday Concert: Create graphic elements similar to those for Festival Betances.
Additional Responsibilities
In addition to core projects, the designer will support:
- Promotional flyers and social media graphics for gallery exhibitions at La CASA.
- Social media graphics for Tito Puente Latin Music Series.
- Assistance with digital design and layout of IBA’s quarterly electronic newsletters.
Additional Engagement Details
- Estimated Volume of Work: Approximately 12–18 discrete projects per year.
- Website Design: Future website redesign anticipated; experience with full redesigns or refreshes is beneficial.
- Reporting: Designer will report to IBA’s Executive Communications Manager.
- File Ownership: IBA retains ownership of final design assets.
Proposed Schedule
- December 17, 2025: RFP Issued
- January 16, 2026: Proposals Due
- January 26–30, 2026: Finalist Interviews (if applicable)
- February 1, 2026: Decision
Selection Process
Responses will be reviewed by IBA’s Executive Communications Manager and selected executives, with top-ranked proposals possibly invited for interviews.
