CREATIVE CONTENT AND MARKETING PARTNER FOR A DARK LITERARY BRAND
I am looking for one individual freelance creative content and marketing partner for a one-month contract for a dark literary brand focused on psychological and supernatural horror, grief, trauma, tarot, taboo fictional themes, book and audiobook reviews, and digital products.
This is for an individual freelancer only. Please do not apply on behalf of an agency, company, studio, team, or other business. I want to work directly with the person who will actually be creating the content.
You will turn my writing, reviews, digital products, book-related material, and creative ideas into original social content that attracts the right audience and supports sales. You should be comfortable working with mature and potentially disturbing fictional subject matter sensitively, while still understanding that horror content sometimes needs to feel unsettling, strange, dark, or psychologically uncomfortable.
The work includes developing a weekly content calendar and producing at least seven posts per week for Instagram and Facebook.
Weekly content will include:
• At least two short 5 to 8 second reels designed around strong visual or emotional hooks
• At least one longer 20 to 30 second story-driven reel
• Approximately three carousels per week
• Additional static, text-led, review, promotional, or product-focused content as appropriate
• Cross-posting and adapting content for Instagram and Facebook
You should understand Instagram and Facebook content strategy, including hooks, retention, saves, shares, direct messages, rewatch value, carousel performance, calls to action, and how content may need to change based on performance or a specific launch.
I am especially interested in someone who understands how literary, horror, book, audiobook, and niche creator accounts grow without making everything look like generic social media marketing.
The visual style matters enormously.
I want realistic, cinematic, atmospheric imagery that feels believable and intentional. I do not want anime, cartoon imagery, generic fantasy art, obvious stock-photo montages, cheap horror effects, or visuals that look disconnected from the story being told.
You must be able to create or source your own original footage and imagery rather than depending entirely on generic stock material.
AI-assisted creative tools are absolutely welcome when used well. You may use tools such as Canva, CapCut, Kling, Higgsfield, MiniMax, Runway, HeyGen, Veo, Sora, Midjourney, Flux, or similar programs if they help produce realistic, high-quality work. I care about the final result, creative judgment, consistency, and whether the content fits the brand.
You should already have access to the programs and tools you normally use. I am not looking to purchase expensive software subscriptions for a freelancer.
I will provide the products, writing, reviews, source material, concepts, visual references, creative direction, and feedback. I expect collaboration rather than someone simply receiving a title and producing something without discussion.
All content must be approved by me before it is published.
Experience promoting books, digital products, Etsy products, or similar creative products is strongly preferred. Experience adapting or promoting content on TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, or Etsy is welcome, although Instagram and Facebook are the primary platforms.
This is initially a one-month paid contract. If we work well together and the content is strong, I am looking for someone I can continue working with long term.
Budget range: Up to $1,500 for the one-month contract.

- Can you create a polished 20 to 30 second reel as comfortably and efficiently as you can create a 5 to 8 second reel? Please briefly explain your process for maintaining visual consistency, pacing, and character continuity across a longer reel.
- How would you create a realistic 5 to 8 second horror reel designed to make someone stop scrolling within the first two seconds?
- What do you currently understand about Instagram ranking and distribution, particularly saves, shares, DMs, rewatches, and carousel performance?
