Hi, I’m Damien Jones, an illustrator and animation artist based in Launceston, Cornwall. I’ve been fortunate to work across children’s publishing, television and animation, bringing characters and stories to life through illustration, design and visual storytelling. I trained in Animation Production at the Arts University Bournemouth, and my early career included working as an Assistant Animator on Sylvain Chomet’s The Illusionist. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for movement, character and narrative — lessons that still inform everything I do. Since then, I’ve focused on illustration, collaborating with clients such as Scholastic, Aardman Ltd, Honeywell Aerospace and Lupus Films Ltd. I’ve worked on projects like Dragon Masters, continuing the style of Graham Howells, and contributed to award-winning animation such as Kensuke’s Kingdom. I enjoy projects that let me combine storytelling with imaginative visuals, whether that’s for books, screen or editorial work. I aim to create work that’s expressive, engaging and thoughtful, and I love collaborating with people who are as passionate about their stories as I am. When I’m not drawing, you’ll usually find me exploring the Cornish countryside or experimenting with new techniques in my studio.
