Not every job recommendation is going to be the right fit. Maybe the budget is too low, the location doesn’t work or it’s simply not the kind of project you’re looking for.
Now, you can tell Ari exactly that.
We’ve introduced job match feedback, a new way to help Ari understand your preferences and find more relevant freelance opportunities.
When Ari recommends a job, you can flag it as not relevant, explain why or let Ari know whether you’ve applied. Your feedback becomes part of the information Ari uses to find future opportunities, helping it build a better understanding of what you’re looking for.
The more you share, the more Ari has to go on when it picks your next job recommendations.

Why your feedback matters
Ari starts from your portfolio or resume, which tells it a lot about your skills and experience. But your background doesn’t always tell the full story.
You might be looking for high-paying projects, prefer working with clients in a particular time zone or want to focus on senior level work. These preferences can change and they’re not always obvious from your portfolio.
That’s where your feedback comes in.
Each job that Ari finds for you includes a “Why Ari matched this” explanation, showing why Ari thinks the opportunity is relevant to you.
Feedback works the other way: it’s your chance to tell Ari where it got it right and where it missed.
How to give feedback on a job match?
Every job has a Not relevant button. Click it and Ari asks what put you off, so you can pick the reason that fits best.
You can choose from six reasons:
- Job closed: The opportunity is no longer accepting applications.
- Pay too low or not stated: The budget doesn’t meet your expectations, or the listing doesn’t mention one.
- Location or time zone: The job doesn’t work for your location or availability.
- Not the work I want: The project doesn’t match the type of work you’re looking for.
- Full-time role: You’re looking for freelance or contract opportunities instead.
- Something else: The recommendation isn’t right for another reason.
You can also add a note explaining what you’d prefer to see.
For example, you could tell Ari you’re looking for branding projects with budgets above £1,000, remote contracts or opportunities in a particular industry.
The additional note is optional, so you can submit your feedback without writing anything extra.

Keep track of the jobs you’ve applied for
When you open a recommended job on an external website, Ari asks a simple question: Did you apply?
You can select:
- Yes, I applied: Confirms you’ve submitted an application and marks the job as Applied.
- Not yet: Lets Ari know you’re still considering the opportunity.
- No: Indicates you haven’t applied.
This helps you keep track of your applications while giving Ari more information about the opportunities you’re interested in.
Ari doesn’t apply for jobs on your behalf. You’re always in control of which opportunities you pursue.

How your feedback improves future job recommendations
Every answer is saved and added to the context Ari uses when it searches jobs for you.
A “pay too low” today becomes something Ari weighs on your next search, and so does a note asking for more brand work.
One answer won’t transform your results. Regular feedback gives Ari a much clearer picture of the work you want, and your job recommendations should get sharper over time as it builds up.
Tips to get better job matches from Ari
A few seconds of feedback goes a long way. These habits help Ari learn faster:
- Pick a reason rather than skipping, so Ari has something to act on.
- Use the text box for anything Ari can’t work out from your portfolio, like the clients or budgets you’re aiming for.
- Answer “Did you apply?” honestly, including “Not yet”.
- Flag listings that had closed when you got there.
Spend less time searching, and more time finding the right work
Finding freelance opportunities shouldn’t mean spending hours switching between job boards, only to come across roles that aren’t a good fit.
Ari searches thousands of project-based opportunities across job boards, company career pages and Twine, matching them to your portfolio or resume.
And with job match feedback, you can help shape the recommendations you receive as your preferences change.
