A Freelance Graphic Designer is needed by WarnerMedia for the CNN FlashDocs team.

The CNN FlashDocs team receives direct design and animation support from the Freelance Graphic Designer. They collaborate with our Senior Graphic Designer to develop and implement animated storytelling and visual identities for all of our programming. FlashDocs will produce content for CNN’s linear channels with the potential to expand into additional ones. Strong leaders and imaginative storytellers with expertise creating feature-length content with a keen focus on popular culture are needed for this ambitious and exciting unit. The independent graphic designer upholds high aesthetic standards and a keen focus on client, audience, story, and context.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the creation of graphics packages and show identities, including show openings, transitions, and backdrops.
• In charge of ensuring that motion graphic storytelling maintains a consistent look every day and communicating the Senior Designer and Creative Director’s vision to a larger group of editorial partners inside the company.

Experience…

• The ideal applicant should be skilled with digital graphics and animations, have experience working under pressure to meet deadlines, and be able to manage more challenging projects.
• Experience conveying a creative vision to many stakeholders and disciplines.
• You must be able to make broadcast-quality visuals and interactives quickly and efficiently, as well as have great communication, teamwork, and team-building abilities. You also need to be informed of current business and industry trends.
• 3 to 5 years of graphic design and development experience.
• Working understanding of video, animation, and interactive programmes, such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere, but not restricted to them.
• Experience with 3D and/or real-time rendering technologies, as well as knowledge with Javascript, JSON, or Mogrt templating, are big pluses.
• Degree or an equivalent

Candidates that reside in the tri-state region can preferably come to the office minimum of three days per week (not essential but desired).
