Job Description

In your role as Junior Graphic Designer, you will be required to carry out the following:

• Work under the direction of the Studio Manager.
• Liaise with the Studio Manager, Specialists departments, and the Marketing team to develop creative design ideas.
• Produce precise and accurate marketing assets, both digital and print.
• Page creation for catalogues with and without the guidance of paste-ups, conforming to the Brand guidelines.
• Manage multiple projects with the ability to prioritize workflow.
• Follow instructions given by senior designers.
• Assess color proofs with specialist departments.
• Color correcting images using ADOBE CS packages.
• Correcting and altering pages layout as required.
• Preparing files to send to print.
• Scanning and loading images onto the auction system.
• Uploading finished artwork to various FTP sites.
• Good file management.
• Keeping an accurate record of any additional tasks.

Requirements

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Good knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite software, with particular expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
• Experience in a professional, creative, and fast-paced studio environment.
• Experience working on OSX operating systems.
• Excellent creative and technical art working skills, catalogue page layout and production skills, a strong understanding of brand guidelines, and experience in working with and without pre-designed templates and creating quick and accurate digital proofs.
• Good communication skills with the ability to put forward creative designs in a clear and professional manner.
• A good understanding of color management.
• Full understanding of print production and the formulation of print-ready artworks for press.
• Create print-ready PDF files for print production, correctly profiled for relevant media/publications and able to create page-turning catalogues for the website.
• The ability to work on multiple projects at one time, under pressure to meet deadlines.
• A good working knowledge is required for image clipping paths and shadow work as well as color correction.
• An acute eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and great efficiency.
• Possible future HTML marketing applications, after sufficient internal training on systems.
