Job Description

Scion Technology is conducting an immediate search for an experienced SketchUp Designer for a building systems monitoring organization in Houston, TX. They require a resourceful and self-driven individual with strong graphic design capabilities, hands-on SketchUp experience, and foundational web development skills. This is a 1-2 month contract position onsite in Houston, TX, with the opportunity to convert to a full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D visualizations and models using SketchUp for diverse client and internal projects.
• Collaborate on graphics work for an upcoming Toronto client project, aligning designs with brand and user experience goals.
• Contribute to the upgrade and visual refinement of an existing monitoring system.
• Learn and support business intelligence modeling (BIM) and data visualization tasks.
• Support web development initiatives by building or editing pages, integrating graphics, and contributing to front-end UX.
• Communicate progress and roadblocks clearly while integrating feedback from design and technical leads.

Requirements

• Proven graphic design experience with SketchUp with the ability to create clean, scalable 3D models.
• Experience with commercial floor plan graphics is preferred.
• Foundational front-end web design/development experience is preferred (Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with building management and monitoring is a plus.
